How to Set Up a Proxy in Octo Browser
Add an external proxy to an Octo Browser profile from its connection settings. Choose the proxy connection, enter the issued endpoint and run Check proxy before saving or launching the profile.

Get your Proxyca connection details
Residential proxies
Buy a GB package. Open My proxies → Generate, choose quantity, country, city, protocol and rotation or sticky settings, then generate your connections.
Datacenter proxies
Open Static proxies, choose country, IP quantity and rental period, then pay. Open the issued order in My proxies.
Copy the host, port, username and password for one connection. The hostname:port:username:password format puts those four fields in that order. In a browser with separate fields, paste each value into its matching field and select the issued protocol.
Have the issued endpoint ready
Open the connection details supplied with your proxy order. Keep the host, port, protocol and any username and password together. Use the values for the same endpoint; do not combine a port from an example with credentials from an order.
A hostname is entered as issued. A port is a connection setting, not an IP address. When authentication is required, the proxy username and password are separate from your Octo Browser account login. Keep them out of screenshots you send to a public forum.
Configure a temporary proxy, then decide whether to save it
- Open the intended profile’s connection control. From the profile list, the documented route is Direct → Set a new proxy/VPN. Use the proxy controls for this endpoint, not a VPN configuration import.
- Choose the protocol supplied for the endpoint. Paste a documented format such as host:port:login:password or protocol://login:password@host:port, then inspect the resulting fields.
- Use Check proxy and review its result. An Available or Unavailable status describes that check; keep it with the endpoint and test time.
- If you want to reuse the entry, select Save to the Proxy Manager and name it. Otherwise keep it as a temporary connection. Confirm the configuration before launching the intended profile.
Menu labels can vary by version. These instructions follow the Octo Browser temporary proxy instructions.

Understand temporary versus saved entries
Octo distinguishes a connection entered directly for a profile from one saved in Proxy Manager for quick selection. Temporary does not tell you whether the supplier’s IP rotates or how long the rental lasts. It describes how the connection is stored in Octo.
When recording your setup, keep the profile name and saved-entry name distinct. If you switch a profile to another saved entry, verify the actual host and port it now uses. A familiar label alone does not show that the selected endpoint is still the one you intended.
What the proxy controls look like

The images show the developer’s documented interface. Example credentials or profile names in them are not a Proxyca endpoint; enter the details issued with your own order.
Read the checker result as a connection observation
After the initial check, launch that profile and open an IP lookup inside its window. Keep the observed address alongside the checker result. A successful check is useful evidence about that attempt, not a promise that every destination will accept the connection.
If the checker and browser request disagree, record where each test ran and the time. Use the same endpoint and protocol for the comparison. This gives support a specific difference to investigate instead of an assumption that the proxy or browser is always at fault.
The optional IP-change URL is relevant only when an actual change link is supplied for your product. Saving a proxy in Octo does not create such a URL or establish that the endpoint supports a particular rotation behavior.
The public IP tool checks the request from the browser window where you open it. It does not test an endpoint configured only in another application.
If the first attempt fails
Change one setting at a time and repeat the same request. Start with typing or paste errors, the selected protocol, and the active order. When an import string parses unexpectedly, inspect its fields rather than repeatedly pasting the whole value.
For an HTTP proxy response of 407, investigate proxy authentication. A different destination error needs its own diagnosis; a failing page alone does not identify which component rejected the request. See the connection testing guide for a fuller sequence.
To troubleshoot the connection, record the order number, application version, endpoint host and port, selected protocol, test time and exact error. Redact passwords and tokens. State whether the failure happens in the checker, the launched profile or only one destination.
Octo Browser proxy questions
Does temporary mean the IP changes each time?
No. In this interface it concerns whether the entry is stored for reuse. Check the supplier’s actual session and address behavior separately.
Can I keep the endpoint in Proxy Manager?
Yes. Octo documents a Save to the Proxy Manager option for a temporary entry. Give it a useful name and verify which profile uses it.
Does a proxy check establish UDP support for my plan?
Do not infer a plan’s capabilities from its protocol name alone. Confirm the issued endpoint and client requirements, and test the feature you actually need.
Choose a product for your connection requirements
Compare the available plans by billing unit, required location and application compatibility. A successful proxy connection is not a guarantee that a website will accept an account or request. Use the service within the destination’s rules and your authorization.
All application setup guides include the existing AdsPower walkthrough. For current interface details, also see Octo Browser connection types and saved entries.
Choose a proxy for your browser profiles
Use residential traffic for country and city settings, rotation or sticky sessions. Start with 1 GB for $8, then generate connections in Telegram. Choose datacenter rental when your profile needs a static rented IP: from $2.50 per IP for 30 days.
